Call of Duty: Ghosts Confirmed for Wii U?

Date: June 28, 2013 Written by

While Call of Duty: Ghosts has been confirmed for other platforms for a while now, we have not had a Wii U version confirmed yet (though the Nintendo versions do tend to get confirmations later). Due to the struggling sales of the Wii U, Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC never made its way to Wii U (though this was likely not the only reason), and it has put a Wii U version of Call of Duty: Ghosts in doubt.

However, in the August issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine (ONM), which is now going out to subscribers, there is a page in the E3 preview section dedicated to Call of Duty: Ghosts for the Wii U. As ONM rarely – if ever – publishes misinformation, this seems to be a confirmation that Call of Duty: Ghosts will find its way to Wii U on November 5th.

The article says that the developers for the Wii U version will be Infinity Ward, which would be interesting as previous Nintendo versions of Infinity Ward Call of Duty games have been handled by Treyarch.

So, do you think this article confirms that the game is coming to Wii U? Are you excited for this Call of Duty game, and would you want to purchase it on Wii U?

3A has always ported IW games to the Wii, even if IW is technically the developer. MW3 for example – developed by IW, ported to Wii by 3A. I imagine it will be this way as well for Ghosts.

Black Ops II IS on Wii U. It was a launch title.

Indeed it was! I mentioned that the DLC – other than patches – never made its way to Wii U.

Yes it is coming to Wii U. I’m so sick of having to say this now but here it is again: When the game was first revealed, on its official website the had logos for PS3, 360, Wii U etc. I pointed this out but no one took note then some idiot wrote an article saying one online retailer in one country didn’t list a Wii U version for sale. Since then its all been doom and gloom for Wii U & CoD when one minutes research would have given everyone the straight answer they were asking for. A while ago an Activision employee/CoD dev was asked about a Wii U version, he kind of dodged the question and didn’t give a yes or no answer but his words pretty much said yes “we’re doing it but we want to keep the details under wraps for now.”
I suppose this article puts pay to the negative stories but come on people, why do hundreds of gamers like me (or was it just me?) see Activision say “Wii U” on their website but the journalists completley miss it – not so much you but the ones who screwed up back ehen Ghosts was first revealed, they’ve screwed up reports on tne subject, misinformed millions and when people like me say “that’s not true, here’s good news, here’s the link, see for yourself, it’s happening!” it gets ignored.
Sorry for the rant, I’m glad it’s over now.
